FAR INFRARED SAUNA

Our newest addition to Bodhi Holistic Spa is a Far Infrared Sauna. The sauna will be available for use alone as a treatment, weekly scheduled personal use, or along with any of our treatments.

The infrared sauna is a bit different than your traditional sauna. There is no steam. The sauna heats the person not the air.

As the body temperature rises the blood vessels dilate and circulation is increased. The increases blood flow accelerates the body's natural healing process.  This increase in body temperature also signals the nervous system to signal the millions of sweat glands covering the body.

This deep sweating helps reduce levels of lead, copper, zinc, nickel and mercury- all toxins commonly picked up from our environment.  I did a lot of investigating and found that the infrared sauna helps the body detoxify and flush out toxins on deeper level than the traditional style. I felt that with the nature of the treatments at bodhi we should have available a heat therapy that is as relaxing as it is beneficial.
